Ferrari Expo and Supercars of Málaga

Roughly 2 weeks ago I attended the local annual supercar and Ferrari exposition. It was nice to see a large variety of high performance cars from all over the world, although sadly no Japanese cars were present.

But apart from that, the array of the cars was nothing short of impressive. From Fiat 695 Tributo Ferrari to KTM X-Bow and Maybach 57, there was truly something for everyone.

In this post I’ll highlight the cars that caught my attention.
Yes, even in a car show like in this one, some cars stand out more than others.

Starting with this pristine purple Lamborghini Diablo VT. I have dreamed of these cars since I was a small child.

The interior was just as immaculate as the exterior.

Despite the beautiful pearl white Lamborghini Gallardo LP560 lurking right next to the Diablo, the next car that caught my attention was this Aurora Blue McLaren 650S. The images don’t do any justice to the colour – it was an incredibly nice tone of blue, I can only imagine what would it look like with proper lighting.

The interior of the McLaren is amazing, it is very simplistic with nice touches everywhere. Just look at those pedals! I wonder how many grams of weight they saved with them…

And speaking of astonishing colors, just look at this Divine Red Aston Martin Vanquish. why aren’t there any more brown hues in the automotive world? People don’t know what they are missing out!

The previous generation Ford GT. It still looks fairly modern despite its age. Can’t wait to see one next to the newest one alongside the original GT40…

The KTM X-Bow surely packs one of the craziest looking suspension setups I have seen in my life. That just screams business!

There were some rarer cars as well, like this Ascari A10, powered by the legendary BMW S62. Only 50 of these track ready beasts will be built.

Those one lug racing wheels surely do look their part…

… Just like the huge fixed rear spoiler.

The Ascari however wasn’t the only Spanish made supercar as it was accompanied by this GTA Spano, sporting a hefty 700.000€ price tag. Before taxes.

It certainly drew a lot of attention, everyone seemed to love it.

Front-GTA-Spano

And there is a lot to love – like the 8.3 liter V10 from a Dodge Viper, producing anywhere between 780 and 900 horsepower.

That much power means it will do more than 350 km/h (217 mph).

Rear-GTA-Spano

One of my favourite cars from the event was this beautiful Mercedes Benz CLK DTM AMG Cabriolet. Only 80 were produced, meaning it’s one of the rarer production Mercedes’ ever made.

That DTM inspired wide body is just beyond amazing. I absolutely love it!

The car is seriously wide.

The rims were gorgeous and those 19″ AMG composite brakes will bring the car to a halt without a doubt. F1 drivers are known to be fond of these cars – and for a good reason.

Sometimes money doesn’t equal taste though. Here’s a prime example of what too much money does to you.

Yellow-Rolls-Royce

This Stinger 991 911 modified by a Russian company called TopCar did draw it’s fair share of attention as well. And no wonder, it did look proper.

Moving on to the Ferrari part of the exposition. And we’ll start with the powerplant from a Ferrari FF – all 6.3 liters and 12 cylinders of it. Good for 651 horsepower.

Ferrari-FF-Engine

It’s a real masterpiece, a work of art.

And so is this gorgeous 288 GTO.  They are starting to command serious figures as of lately, some pristine examples going for nearly $3 million.

Only 272 were produced.

After the 288 GTO came maybe the most legendary of them all – the F40. Probably the most revered car – and certainly Ferrari – of all times.

It simply is breathtaking. This one is supposedly Maradona’s old F40.

However it wasn’t the main attraction of the event…

Neither was this extraordinary F50. Probably my favourite Ferrari of all time.

I love it how you can peek inside the engine bay through the rear grille…

And see the F1 derived suspension setup. It was in fact as close to an F1 car as you could get, including the spectacular 4.7 liter naturally aspirated V12 based on the contemporary F1 engine.

The suspension is intricate – and was very advanced for it’s time. And all this hidden underneath the carbon fiber body.

The successor of F50 – Enzo Ferrari. Following the footsteps of the previous generation, it also was powered by a V12 but this time it was 6 liters. Just like the predecessor, it was packed full of F1 technology.

Enzo-Ferrari-Front

The heart of the beauty – F140 B.

Enzo-Ferrari-Engine

The real star of the show was no other than the Ferrari LaFerrari, the newest and most extreme Ferrari ever built.

Ferrari-Laferrari-front-three-quarters

It was able to make the other Ferrari hypercars look almost ordinary – and it certainly drew the most attention of them all.

Red-LaFerrari-rear-three-quarters

Every single crease on the car is built with aerodynamics in mind…

Ferrari-LaFerrari-rear-three-quarters

Just like the Enzo Ferrari and F50, it is packed with F1 technology, including the KERS that helps the engine deliver up to 963 horsepower. But it is still a hybrid…

Ferrari-LaFerrari-V12

So it is basically a Prius with a Horse badge.

I’ll take 2.
